Discovering the Green Heart of Italy: April 24-29, 2018

Umbria – this is where I first fell in love with Italy nine years ago. Affectionally known as the green heart of Italy, this region is landlocked by other more well-known places (Tuscany, Rome & Florence) and is often overlooked by tourists longing to visit the other attractions. But hidden in these glorious hills are so many layers of treasures that must be discovered and shared. On this Food & Photoventure tour, we will dive deep into the culinary and cultural beauty of Umbria to understand what makes this region such a gem. From photographing breathtaking landscapes, tasting local products, participating in cooking classes, and learning the art of making gelato, you’ll discover that there’s something for everyone here. The Umbrian cuisine is centered on seasonal ingredients and uses traditional methods dating back to the Etruscan era. It's all about freshness, simplicity and good flavor - and we will get front row experience as we taste and even prepare some of these dishes! So roll up your sleeves and get ready to dive in. If full immersion and unique experience of Italy is what you are craving for, Umbria has it all and more.

Food & Photoventure tour has evolved over the years (since 2009) and is now designed for anyone that have passion for photography, food, wine & new cultural experiences. Photography is obviously an icing on the cake as you will have Kenny Kim along side you not only to document the experience but to teach you more about photography. Kenny will openly share about his background in wedding business for anyone interested in this topic. For the avid amateurs or those just starting out, Kenny can share the basics of SLR camera and shoot along with you side-by-side to help get the best shots which makes this tour unlike any other.

Please note that schedule is subject to change based circumstances (weather, schedule, etc). This is just to give you an idea what to expect. Like all the previous Photoventure tours, there are often fun and pleasant surprises as well as various photographic opportunities along the way. So be flexible and always have your camera & taste buds ready to have a great adventure.

(You might be asking, wait, isn’t Cortona in the Tuscan region?! I thought this was a tour of Umbria? Yes, you are correct. But the town of Cortona is literally one of the first towns just outside of Umbrian border so we will just pretend we’re still in Umbria. “The best parts of the trip are when Kenny spots an amazing scenery and yells "stop the bus!" and we are off on an unscheduled mini-adventure. The lasting memories and friends I've made keeps me coming back each year.”
